Holden raises hell
Gish Jen uses what a lot of critics say about the book to establish what other people feel about the book. She not only uses people who like the book but also people who hate it and she gives us many reasons why they do not like it. She also pairs these up with her opinion with what she thinks of the book. The strategies she uses to integrate her research is done in such a way that gives us more curiosity. She talks about the two men who have killed or have tried to kill while under the "influence" of this book. Showing us that this book affects people in drastic ways. As she talks about the flaws in the book she points out that these flaws really do not matter, They don't matter because even though the book is not perfect structure wise it still has made an impact on who the current generation or even the generation that book was made for, we can see this impact made in such a way that schools are having their children read this book.
